Medical Cosmetics Returns to the Essence of Medicine

A Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Clinic

The 3D Vision of a Skin Specialist

A Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Clinic is located on Anhe Road in the East District. It is a lovely spot of leisure in a bustling city. Today we are at A Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Clinic to interview Dr.Vivi, who has frequently been interviewed on television. A Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Clinic is on the second floor of a building on Anhe Road, a road lined with lush greenery. Upon arriving, the first person we saw was Dr.Vivi herself. Her legendary pure white, shining skin was without blemish. It not only looked like it didn’t have pores, it also had a healthy, rosy hue, which was enough to make anyone curious about her secret for daily skin care.

Dr.Vivi said that dermatology is a very interesting branch of medicine. In her student days, it was already a very popular field. Skin is the most superficial part of the human body, as well as the organ with the largest surface area. Because changes in the skin can be seen with the naked eye, from observing the skin an experienced skin specialist, due to his previous training, can draw conclusions about the body’s state of health. A skin specialist can detect related diseases by looking at the appearance of the skin.

Most people may have the wrong impression that a skin specialist only knows about skin diseases, so they go to a cosmetic medicine specialist for medical beauty issues. Actually, most medical programs don’t include a department for cosmetic medicine. But a normal skin specialist has undergone thorough skin physiology and pathology training, so just from the outward appearance of the skin the skin specialist can mentally construct a 3D model of the whole structure of the skin. A skin specialist can provide the most suitable treatment suggestions that are appropriate for each individual’s physical condition and personal needs, as well as being in accordance with the essence of medicine.

In addition, laser treatment and cosmeceutics are indispensable parts of a skin specialist’s training. Because these are the most basic and applicable components of a skin specialist’s education, when giving cosmetic medical treatment a skin specialist can give the patient the best and safest treatment suggestions.

Medical Cosmetics Returns to the Essence of Medicine

For the past ten years, Dr.Vivi has been watching the thriving developments of cosmetic medicine in Taiwan. However, in recent years, large-scale advertising has caused cosmetic medicine to become overly commercialized. Large numbers of practicing medical personnel who have not received medical dermatology and physiology training are flocking into this industry...among many other factors that contribute to an increasing number of disputes in cosmetic medicine.

Dr. Vivi’s Observations

In the last two or three years, many non-specialized cosmetic medicine clinics have experienced a wave of elimination. Patients started to realize that they were having related skin problems. They still had to seek out the professional knowledge of a skin specialist in order to avoid unnecessary and unsuitable laser treatment, get personalized advice for their individual skin condition, and so on.

Looking back, medical cosmetics still has to return to the essence of medicine. (To be continued…)
