Focus on Caring for Asian Skin

This skin care brand is very special. The dermatology clinic I frequented was marketing their products, and later on I found out that the founder was actually a friend of a friend! She has been in the cosmetics industry for many years. Last year, she founded her own brand, CREEKHEAL, which focuses on Asian skin.

CREEKHEAL has gradually expanded, starting from the medical industry. It’s is no easy feat to develop key ingredients and product mechanisms that can convince numerous physicians! Today, I want to share with everyone the story of how a small CREEK has widened and expanded !

” The new skin healing solution of Asian skin. ” CREEKHEAL

“Oh, you’re in Mucha, Dr. Qiu is pretty good, right? He is a very good friend of mine. Over at Gangqian that doctor and his wife are both really nice.”

The person who is pleasantly chatting about famous dermatology specialists is Teresa, founder of CREEKHEAL. She is a senior manager with vast experience in the medical cosmetics industry, and I don’t think there is anyone in Taipei’s dermatology clinics who doesn’t know. Although she is now the founder of her own brand, she hasn’t forgotten the days when she went around with a white board and skin care products to visit customers.

“Actually, I can go on for 2 hours just talking about ceramide”. Teresa calmly flips through her PowerPoint slides.

The medical cosmetic industry places has high requirements for product ingredients. Especially after laser treatment or cosmetic surgery, products with simple, pure ingredients are needed. Besides having a good product, product mechanisms, site of action, regulations, physiological mechanisms and other details have to be explained in depth. Teresa, for whom these things are not her field of expertise, had to spend endless hours studying and forcing herself to commit these details to memory. Now, she not only clearly understands all these aspects, she can also give training sessions to medical personnel.

Only on looking back did she realise she had succeeded in establishing her brand in all 581 hospitals in Taipei.

Focus on Asian Skin

Asian skin tends to be quite thin, so its intercellular cohesion is weaker than African or Caucasian skin. Its barrier factor is also comparatively weaker, for example, a product with 2% Salicylic acid would cause irritation for Asian skin. Asian skin is also more sensitive to sunlight, and is prone to producing spots and dark patches.

Then what kind of skin care can fulfill the needs of Asian skin?

The keys to a skin care product that is stabilizing, has long-acting release, and heals skin are moisturizing factors that strengthen intercellular cohesion, such as ceramide, PCA, and hyaluronic acid.

The Top-Grade Scientific Research That Masters the Manufacturing Side

Most brands don’t have their own factories, so it is extremely difficult to have full control over the ingredients of their products. Some brands purchase their own raw materials, while others hire consultants to regularly check their factories and supply stock to ensure that there is no cutting corners. Teresa, however, has her own younger brother to manage the manufacturing side of the brand. So when it comes to research and development, she doesn’t need to have any worries either.

CREEKHEAL’s factories have passed the ISO22716 standard of Cosmetics Manufacturing and have International GMP Certification. They not only emphasize environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, the bottles are made with recyclable glass and Polypropylene. Even the pressure heads use high-priced external springs. The exquisite design encases the spring in the plastic cover, which ensures that the raw material will not deteriorate due to contact with the spring.

I actually really like hearing stories about the second generation of entrepreneurs establishing their own businesses. But Teresa is actually generation 1.5, because she worked in the parent company for a long period of time. I often saw the younger generation feel like they would rather establish their own company because there wasn’t any way to make the parent company move forward. Yet there are those who can preserve the strong research and development strength of the parent company while also developing a vision of their dream brand.

Slow is Smooth. Smooth is Fast. A babbling creek that brings healing to the skin, the heart, and the mind.

A creek is a small stream, which symbolizes how pure healing power is like a babbling creek flowing over the skin.

I think CREEKHEAL’s biggest difference from other brands is that Teresa herself stated that she hopes her products should gently heal the skin over a long period of time. Many brands that claim to be “natural” market products that merely moisturize. CREEKHEAL’s products, on the other hand, have ingredients that are soothing and actively repair skin, such as compound ceramide (without medical alcohol) and trehalose. These active ingredients will give your skin a big helping hand when it is in a delicate state after surgery.

The MED+ Series that I have introduced to everyone is primarily available at dermatology clinics, pharmacies, or other medical outlets. The gentle yet refreshing texture of the MED+ Series products are suitable for all skin types. Every month, I have concave scars from laser treatment. After treatment, interstitial fluid would flow for several days. At this stage, skin care products with overly complex ingredients would make my skin sting, but I never have any problems with MED+ Series. Rather, my skin feels gently nourished.

Amino Acids Hyaluronic Acid Skin Revitalizer

This revitalizer contains a very simple, pure hyaluronic acid essence, with the perfect ratio between macromolecules and medium molecules of hyaluronic acid. There is none of the usual dull, sticky feel associated with hyaluronic acid, instead, your skin will feel refreshed and smooth after use.

ATP amino acids are an energy factor for the skin. It’s a compound ingredient composed of amino acids, minerals, and trehalose extract. ATP amino acids increase cell activity and repair skin, so it’s excellent for post-surgery use.

What makes this revitalizer so cost-effective is that only a very small amount is needed for the desired effect. At first, I used three squirts, but later realized that was way too much. If you’ve just washed your face and the skin is still moist, one squirt is enough. Even if you apply it two or three times a day, the 100ml bottle can be used for three months or so.

Ceramides Skin Recovery Oil

This skin recovery oil is based on compound ceramide and plant-based squalane. Its rich, moist texture makes it cling to the skin. It not only has amazing skin repair results, it continues to help the skin absorb the ingredients over time!

Actually, there are many variants of ceramide in the skin. Consequently, skin care products always use compound ceramide to come closest to the type of ceramide produced by the skin. However, with age, dryness, sunlight, and laser rays, ceramide gets lost. Then the barrier function of the skin will be worse than usual!

I highly recommend using this skin recovery oil after surgery because overly moisturizing oils can cause pimples. This time after surgery, I used CREEKHEAL’s skin recovery oil and my skin was very stable. If your skin is the oily type, choose a drier area of skin or an area that has just undergone laser treatment to use this skin recovery oil.

My skin is the dry type, so I use a combination of skin oil and skin cream. I feel that this is an easy and fast way to care for my skin after surgery.

Ceramides Daily Moisturizer

This moisturizer is super light and refreshing! The Ceramides Nutrition Cream in this series is very refreshing as well, and due to my dry skin, I favor Ceramides Nutrition Cream. If your skin tends to be oily,
use Amino Acids Hyaluronic Acid Skin Revitalizer with sunscreen and you’re good to go !

Ceramides Nutrition Cream

I originally thought that a skin repair cream from a medical product series would probably be thick and heavy, but to my surprise, this Ceramides Nutrition Cream was unexpectedly soft and light!

The silky white texture is due to the fact that it contains Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter. Theobroma Grandiflorum is a plant that is similar to the breadfruit tree and cacao tree. Its large fruits are rich in oil, which contains plant sterol. Plant sterol aids in water absorption, and in collaboration with raffinose it helps the skin to capture moisture from the air. These substances promote long-term moisturization that helps to repair skin. Compound ceramide and German chamomile contain natural plant sterol as well, and they sooth skin, reduce reddening, and fight infection.

Skin Purifying Facial Cleanser / Skin Soothing Toner / Supercharged Hydrator Gel

While I’m at it, I would also like to introduce the HE& Dual Stability Series. Although it’s CREEKHEAL’s male skin care series, these products have nearly no fragrance, so females will not need to worry that these products have a strong masculine fragrance. Females with oily skin are also welcome to use products from the HE& Dual Stability Series. Currently, there are three single products. One of the most moisturizing is honey-matte. Honey matte keeps skin looking moist and dewy for a long time, so it’s very suitable as a skin care base for oily skin types.

Steady and Swift
From the Medical Beauty Industry to Expansion Overseas

In just one short year, CREEKHEAL has developed nearly 30 single products. Product series include: MED+Series, MoistEH Oxygen Evolution Series, and three Dual Stability Series. These series swiftly cover all skin care needs. At the end of the interview, I couldn’t help exclaiming, “It’s amazing how fast you guys are!”. Teresa is not only swift in developing new products, she has also actively expanded overseas. In CREEKHEAL’s first year, she applied for FDA approval of her products. HE& Moisture-Enhancing Skin Hydrator Gel has been shortlisted in the Best New Male Skin and Body Care Product category of the UK’s 2018 Pure Beauty Awards and was featured in Pure Beauty magazine. In fact, CREEKHEAL is about to release a sunscreen product series. This is remarkable considering the fact that due to the complex regulations and longer development time required to product sunscreen products, most brands don’t have the ability to produce sunscreen products until many years later.

CREEKHEAL is available in over 50 medical beauty outlets all over Taiwan, and they have expanded overseas into Macau. To purchase online, I recommend buying at their official website.
